On Sunday, July 27th, I am cycling in the Capilano Volkswagen Cypress Challenge presented by GlotmanSimpson Cycling, raising awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research and care at BC Cancer.

This year, more than 800 British Columbians will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Its projected that only 10 per cent (or 80 of those people diagnosed) will live five years.

Pancreatic cancer is difficult to detect at an early stage and is often resistant to treatment. Although it is the tenth most common cancer in Canada, it is the fourth leading cause of cancer

I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma 10 years ago, I got very lucky and was able to survive thanks to a revolutionary treatment. I was technically not well enough to participate in the clinical study because my outcome would not have been a success.

I am here today because of cancer research and prevention. I am extremely grateful and I want others who are going through a similar journey to have a positive outcome like I did. I am asking you to please help me in my mission to help others !!! Thank you thank you thank you !!!!
