Since 2019, Ive taken on the Cypress Challenge cycling up Cypress Mountain to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer. Each year, Ive done this ride with people in mind who have faced this insidious disease. But this year is different. Its deeply personal.

Recently, my dear sister-in-law was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. There are no words to describe how heartbreaking it is to have someone you love face this silent killer. Pancreatic cancer often goes undetected until its too late, and we need to change that.

Every pedal stroke I take up Cypress this year is for her and for every family who has been blindsided by this devastating disease. My ride is a small way to support the critical research that can lead to earlier detection, better treatments, and, ultimately, save lives.

Please consider making a donation -- thank you from the bottom of my heart.
